27/7/20: ABC Black won a thriller 4-3 against NHI with goals from Rob Kennedy (moving forward from his usual half position), Josh Horan, Graham Wessels (PC) and Anuj Patel. The midfield was particularly strong and the overall performance was a big step up from last week.
ABC Maroon lost 3-1 against a strong NSU side that played Division 1 last year. The game was pretty evenly balanced. Louie Lawton scored from a drag flick, and with Thomas Blathwayt, they held the defensive midfield well. Strong debut from youngster Jacob Birks whose striking partner, Graham Thomson, was 50 years older than him.
The youngsters again shone in a 3-2 loss to NSU, who were second in the grade last year, with goals from Dirco Spies and Reuben D'Souza. This was the first game of the season and it took some time to settle and they were chasing the game throughout, and came through with a strong run at the end.
