Daina and Rianne Brazier
Daina started her hockey journey seven years ago and played in the youth team for ABC then played at Prem 2 level as a goalie: she is a great all-round sportswoman with her primary focus being softball and soccer and has just returned to Iowa Lakes Community College in the United States, where she is in the second year of her sports scholarship.
Rianne (Ri) is a long-standing club member who joined ABC 15 years ago playing Senior One. In 2009 she won the Weber Cup as most valuable club member and has consistently played at Masters for North Harbour. Rianne also coached the Div 3 ladies for a few years with a good success rate.
Ri and Daina Brazier are a mother and daughter combination who have been instrumental in making the Division 2 defense, a unit that is very hard to break down. Ri has captained the D2 teams for a few years and has acted as mentor for the younger players coming through the grade.
Not only is Daina missed by Ri, but also by all her Division 2 teammates.
